Clearly we are taught "There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man" (Mark 7:15). Does this mean that while pitching might still be wrong catching is fine with Jesus?

First, let me say that KVC is absolutely right. The going in part of this verse refers to putting that which is unclean into your mouth literally, not figuratively. Jesus does not seem to restrict his comment but, rather, to abolish in fell swoop a whole segment of Jewish law. This is, after all, the verse that allows Christians stop keeping kosher. So why do you think it stops with food?

A thought experiment for those afraid of Adam and Steve - if it was hetero would it make a difference to you?

Lastly, Atlas, go for it. Drano will clean you out real good.

The issue in Mark 7, however, is not politics but "purity and pollution." Jesus group members are said to eat with polluted hands ("common...that is, unwashed hands," 7:2), while the Pharisees purify hands as well as vessels for food and drink (7:3-4). According to Mark, Jesus obviously differed from the Pharisees over what constitutes a pollution: what comes out of a man versus what goes into him (7:15,18). On his statement that nothing which comes into a man from outside can make him polluted (7:18), Jesus "cleansed all foods" (7:19), that is, made unclean foods non-polluting. Finally, Jesus stated that what truly pollutes is that which comes out of man's heart (7:21-23), not what crosses his lips.

Your paraphrase means that different ideas can enter your mind, your "world" per say, but you have the ability to reject them. However, once something comes from you, like you say it, your mind expresses it, etc, THEN it evidences you are communicating something you've already internalized. By internalizing it, like thinking a hateful thought, or defaming an innocent individual, then you're manifesting the inward corruption. So if someone says into your ears, influences into your mind, that stealing is good, you can reject that. But if you say that stealing is good, or your spend time thinking it out and rationalizing the benefit of stealing, then you are corrupt.

What goes in through the mouth goes out your butt. What comes out your mouth is what is truly in your heart. If you don't think so then sit back and watch what people laugh at. It will reveal their true personality.
