Try booting from the WIndows XP CD.
Install Console for WIndows included on the CD.
You will rebuild your Master boot record to get access to your Windows once you open the console on DOS and click HELP.

After clicking HELP, you will see a list of commands.
I think you need to use the command FIXBOOT, or something like that. But what you need, is to FIX YOUR BOOT.

Hope this helps.

Hi, let me start by saying that any OS is better than windows. Some good versions of Linux are Ubuntu and Red Hat. Those you can download, burn to a CD, and install. There are also Linux distros that emulate Mac OSX so that would probably be the best choice. If you still want to run your windows or Mac programs on your shiny new Linux OS, look for a free downloadable app called Wine. Best of luck scourging Windows from your system! Is your BIOS set to boot from the CD?

Usually, it's some button like F2 or DEL while your computer's initiation splash is on the screen (It's different for every computer. Check your manual.)

There will be a setting to change the boot order.

Actually you don't make a bootable CD by burning a CD-ROM with the ISO file (CD image) inside. The ISO file is a CD/DVD image that's used to create a CD/DVD with the ISO file contents inside, not the ISO file itself. Check your software's help.
Assuming you're using Nero you should choose that option from the "recorder" menu. It's something like "burn CD from image..." and then point it to the image you you want.

enter your BIOS by pressing (what ever it is for your computer)
then change the Boot Sequence so that the CD-ROM boots first
