i just received a car and all i need is insurance. my father and i are going to pay for it, but he doesnt have custody of me so the address of the insurance has to be in my mothers, therefore i have to be under her insurance and my father will still pay for it.
but she says no!! she is a very hard headed person. ive tried talking to her but she doesnt want to reason. please help?

Your dad should have consulted her first. She has custody and if she says no then it's no. You can, however, offer to get a job and pay the difference that adding you would cost. That would show responsibility for starters, and also give you a reason to drive (work). If you don't think that's good enough and your dad will pay for it, then you do not need to drive you are still to immature.

Well, that seems like a pretty cruel thing to do to a young person, as we older people can remember how important that is to you, but it seems this should have been worked out BEFORE you got a car. Can the insurance not be in YOUR name? In other words, is adding you to her insurance the ONLY option?
