See my last question for background but to sum up - Im going to try to help my dad become more healthy and lose weight and lower his blood pressure.
He works two jobs, Police Officer and Emergency room Nurse, so hes really busy and always too tired to eat right and excercise.
If I made a 'plan' with him, how many pounds per week/month is reasonable to help him lose?
Hes now about 6 feet tall and Id guess 280 pounds. Hes been down to about 215 before, which should be a good goal weight, as he is a 'large guy' and thats a decent looking weight on him.
Real numbers please, not some random answers. I need help to help him?

A month? I would say about 8-10 pounds would be a healthy weight lose goal. But he may lose more in the first months because that happens when you first diet you lose more easily at the start.

Most experts agree that 2lbs/wk is the proper goal to shoot for. Initially, depending on how overweight your dad is, he may initially loose weight more rapidly, especially if he cuts high fats, but will soon stabilize at a lower rate of loss. And as you near your/his target goal, even this rate may slow as the body acclimates to his new routine.

I'm sure if you check on line, you can find some good info on the matter. Good luck!

he doesn't need to exercise with a schedule like that, but does need to eat right, and if does the pounds will come just like that, just go grocery shopping with him next time, and you select the foods he needs to eat.
