Does anyone know the highest resolution VHS-to-DVD devices record in? (Example: 800x600, 640x480, etc.)

My TV tuner card can go to 720x480 in the DVD mode. If you were able to burn that to a DVD, that would be the resolution (I haven't tried, so I'm not sure that's what actually makes it to the DVD).

My DVD off-air recorder goes to 480i or 480p (4:3 display).

Since the VHS tapes are for the typical NTSC signals, probably most DVD recorders are 480i or 480p.
