Why are we here?

That's easy. In fact it's so easy it requires some contemplation to appreciate how profound the answer really is.

Everyone has a purpose, everyone's purpose is the same, everyone's purpose is threefold...

1. To radiate the Love of the Creator.
2. To experience the results of our choices in life.
3. To return those experiences to the Creator.

This truth is the core truth of every major religion and has been fully demonstrated by the great masters throughout history, Jesus, Buddah, Dalai Lamas, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, etc.

Consider the society we would create if we put aside all hate, predjudice and fear and saw every single person as a manifestation of the Divine and worthy of our unconditional love. It would be paradise on Earth.

Also consider the immediate and profound impact on you personally if you adopted this credo in your own life.

The purpose/meaning of life is to recognize and acknowledge the creator, to conform to the laws of that creator, to give praise and gratitude towards that creator whomever it is that you have chosen. Thats the initial purpose/meaning of our lives, just as the intial responsibility of a child as their growing up is to respect their parents. Well think about it....is our purpose in our lives to simply eat and drink and work and aquire some materials things and enjoy ourselfs?? Well most pleasure seekers, the worldly people who only want to enjoy themselves, who only care about taste and touch and smell and have and possess, who think they have the world in their hand will tell you that. Is that the meaning of life??

I know becuase i have really thought about this, unlike many people its too frightning for them! Not the actual question itself is frightning but whats frightning is that if we answer it clearly, it may change our lives indelibly.

Hope this helps

In something you are right we all as humans have a purpose and our creator made sure we reach trough his word....and that's what everyone its trying to achieve in life to live without diseases with no wars or troubles, without racism or any kind of discrimination. To live in true peace as man kind as with animal kingdom. And of course no one wants to die, that's because our god put the eternity in our hearts its an instinct that nobody wants to die or live in a life with so much suffering. So God created us with the purpose of enjoying life as it should be and worship him as he deserves. ..."Even time indefinite he has put in their heart, that mankind may never find out the work that the [true] God has made from the start to the finish." (Eccl 3:11)

Basic to having purpose in our lives is recognition of the Source of life. If life were the product of mindless chance, our existence would, of necessity, be without purpose, and there would be no dependable future for which we could plan. But Acts 17:24, 25, 28 informs us: “The God that made the world and all the things in it . . . gives to all persons life and breath and all things. For by him we have life and move and exist.” Revelation 4:11, which is addressed to God, adds: “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created.”

Frustration results from a life course that conflicts with the Creator’s requirements and his guidelines for happiness. Galatians 6:7, 8 warns: “Do not be misled: God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap; because he who is sowing with a view to his flesh will reap corruption from his flesh.”—Also Galatians 5:19-21.

The inheritance of sin from Adam prevents humans from having at present full enjoyment of life as God purposed at the beginning. Romans 8:20 states that, as a result of divine judgment following Adam’s sin, “the creation [humankind] was subjected to futility.” Regarding his own situation as a sinful human, the apostle Paul wrote: “I am fleshly, sold under sin. For the good that I wish I do not do, but the bad that I do not wish is what I practice. I really delight in the law of God according to the man I am within, but I behold in my members another law warring against the law of my mind and leading me captive to sin’s law that is in my members. Miserable man that I am!”—Rom. 7:14, 19, 22-24.

We find the greatest happiness possible now and our lives take on richness of meaning when we apply Bible principles and put first the doing of God’s will. We do not enrich God by serving him; he teaches us ‘to benefit ourselves.’ (Isa. 48:17) The Bible counsels: “Become steadfast, unmovable, always having plenty to do in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in connection with the Lord.”—1 Cor. 15:58.

The Bible sets before us the prospect of eternal life in perfection if we put faith in Jehovah’s provisions for life and walk in his ways. That hope is solidly based; it will not lead to disappointment; activity in harmony with that hope can fill our lives with real meaning even now.—John 3:16; Titus 1:2; 1 Pet. 2:6.

Our purpose is simply to live life and not let life live us.

We each have an intricate role to play in God's redemption of mankind. We must prepare ourselves (through prayer and study) for when our moment arrives. Other than that we are here as stewards of all our Father owns and He wants us to enjoy ourselves.

Why does there have to be a purpose?

2006-12-28 18:12:18 · answer #8 · answered by eri 7 · 0 0

We were put on this earth to choose between God and Satan. If we choose God our new purpose is to bring glory to His name and to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

elmers got it right

the reason the biggest question on our minds is: why are we here?

is because we have an innate need to get to know that which has created us.

knowing the creator=knowing why he created us=knowing what our overall goal is apart from the smaller daily ones each of us have
