whateverm happened to the bird flu scare, everybody was like "OH GOD IDS GONNA GO PANDEMIC!!!!!!!!!!" and then nothing.

As long as the HN51 virus does not mutate so that it can easily be spread through the air of through person-to-person contact, it is extremely unlikely to go pandemic. There is no solid evidence right now that it is spread from person to person.

Media hype. If you're really THAT concerned, go Vegan/Vegitarian. "They" keep speaking of human to human "passing" of this disease, to eventually take place. You can take all necessary precautions, but the bottom line is educate yourself or go on trying to live in a bubble within a world of 6 billion ppl which will grow to 10 billion by 2025. It's a lose/lose situation. Get used to it.

Bird flu is still a danger. It receded over the summer, but two people just died in Egypt (from the same family) because of it.
