i have a problem....i dunno why...when i talk to a friend whos older than me....i ahve a feelign which is keeping me back from being my self....i always laugh at his words...since its funny...but its not the normal way id laugh....and my throat tenses up....help!!?/

that's why that's not a problem he is your friend and the words are funny but perhaps it's because some other things you hear from a friend in your age are more interesting for you don't think about it so much maybe it made you happy but you couldn't show it. so you try to laugh some how that your friend understands as well (that you re happy of that funny thing)
that's why it seems it's not normal

Maybe you feel intimidated by your older friend. This would make you feel like you don't have enough confidence to have a conversation with this friend. Just remember you are just as smart and important as your older friend. Try not to pick your words as your talking to your older friend. Just let your conversation flow. I hope this helps.

It sounds like you are just getting nervous around him. Since he is older, you may try to act older than you really are, just for acceptance.
You may think he will reject you or think that you're stupid if you say something that is appropriate for you're age. If he is like that then he must not be a real friend. He should accept you for who you are.

Remember that even if a friend is older than you, he's still human and won't eat you if you say the wrong thing! lol

ahh. your probably just nervous of how your friend will treat you if you say something dumb or he decides your boring. when your tlking to him, just pretend hes your age and try not to impress him so much. he should lke you for who you are, not who he wants you to be.

probably becasue since he is alder you want his acceptance so you try to be cool and you are not relaxed...
