Anytime you get an animal you must take responsibility for that animal! If you had a child would you be taking it to the doc's if the same thing happened!! When you get pets you must be ready to care for them when they are sick and that means having money set aside for vet bills. Call you local shelter sometime they can help

There really isn't anyway to tell without X-rays. You shouldn't own a puppy if you cannot afford to take it to the vet. Aside from this injury, a puppy needs vaccinations monthly and should be spayed or neutered at 5-6 months. Some vet hospitals can help you out with a payment plan if it is an emergency (which this is), but they will probably want at least $100 up front.

I'm very sorry your puppy is injured. My advice would be to scrape together about $100, find a hospital that will work with you on a payment plan, and make an appointment. One hint I'll give you to save some money is, don't go for an after hours appontment if you can help it. After hours emergencies cost a lot more than a scheduled appointment during regular office hours! And if you have waited this long, I guess it can wait until an appointment.

(Do not give your puppy any Tylenol as mentioned in the previous post. Tylenol is not an approved medication for animals. Your veterinarian can prescribe appropriate pain medication as needed. Giving any medications could make your puppy sick, in addition to being injured and that is going to cost more money!)

First things first - you must take your pet to the vet!! How would you feel if you broke your hip? After an exam the vet may need to take a couple of x-rays. Many times when the pelvis is fractured (depending on the location and severity of the break) they will recommend cage rest for 6-8 weeks and the bones will heal on their own. However, if any of the bones are misplaced, the treatment options will become more elaborate (sedation for placement up to surgery to place pins or plates to stabilize the bones).
Ask you vet for an estimate of treatment, and see if they can work out a payment plan. Frequently, if you are able to put 1/3 to 1/2 down they are willin to work out a payment plan with you. Keep in mind, however that if you fail your side of the plan the vet will not perform any more services until the previous balance has been paid.
Go to the vet!! Good luck!

Oh dear....another one of these.

First off, if you do not have the moolah to take your dog to the veterinarian when he obviously REALLY needs it, you should not have a dog. Your dog is suffering.
You canNOT do anything yourself for this dog, except give him the care he needs at the veterinarian. As harsh as this sounds, the dog would probably be better off with another family so he CAN get the care he needs. Only problem is, if you abandon him at the animal shelter, they will put him to sleep because they already have to spend enough money to take care of all the dogs that people abandon...see this evil cycle?!!
I do not even know what to tell you to do except get your dog to the veterinarian NOW!!

Just a question folks:
If you found your infant child on the ground obviously in pain, would you just let him suffer because you "do not have the money" and you just "were not prepared for this to happen"?
I think not.
Children should not just be passed around like spare pennies.
And neither should dogs.

Money is a factor in everyone's life, for the most part. Call around for a low cost clinic, try the humane society or even a no kill rescue will have a veterinarian they work with. There's ways to take care of him but do it now. Healing will only create more problems and expenses in the future if it needs rebroke to fix correctly. Just do it! You'll find a way to pay or get the help you need. That pup needs you right now to take care of him.

Get him to the vet now. Or better yet, maybe a neighbor will report you for animal abuse if you don't. You can do jail time for leaving a dog in pain that is injured! If you can not afford a vet, then you should not of gotten a puppy.

You have to take your dog to the vet, you can't risk your dog's health. Like many of the post said please take your dog to the vet. Try calling around to different vets and seeing what their policies and procedures are for payment options. You can also apply for care credit:

CareCredit puts the decision in your hands. Surprised by an expensive surgery? Need help with your pet’s everyday checkups? With low minimum monthly payment options, you can give your pet your veterinarian’s recommended treatment without worrying how to pay for it. CareCredit can be used for all of your pet’s medical needs, over and over. Whether it’s a teeth cleaning or major surgery, you can treat your pet like the royalty he is.

Puppies are prone to accidental injuries and illnesses and you have to be prepared for these occurrances one way or another. A broken bone on any animal can result in disfiguration, premanant damange, long-term damage, result in a animal not being able to function properly.

Another thing you might want to look @ is pet insurance. I have puppy insurance for accidental insurance and illnesses. It helps you pay for the service and fill out a claim and they reinburse you up to however much you signed up for 70%-100%.

In the end you need to take your dog to the emergency vet, no matter what the result is. You can have your dog boarded up and taken care of while you try to find a way to scrape up some money for this. Good Luck.

My stepdad accidentally slammed my pups legs into the door. He just had seperation of the hip. Can he walk, move? My dog was up running the next day. When he took my dog to the vet it was $42 for the Xray and a shot to get him out of pain. And I am sure they can invoice you, if you dont have $$$ on the spot.

I live in Tampa, Florida and we have a emergency vet place. Its called FVS (Florida Veternary Specialists) and they take the animals in and they do it even if you do not have the money right then, they set up a pay plan. You can call your vet to see if there is one in your area.
