Private schools are good in that they are smaller, and have a lot more discipline. The children that go to private schools are usually a little more sheltered. They will learn the fundamentals on morals, and life. Although it does have drawbacks,it is very expensive, they do not offer as much as public schools do.The teachers also have less one on one time if your child has a learning disability. Public schools offer so many more options to help children who are struggling. Public schools use bus systems & in private schools,it is usually your responsibility to take and pick your child up from school.

I went to public school K-6 and private for 7-12. Good things about private school, the classes are smaller and I feel like I got a better education. Bad things, they might not have the variety of classes or extra curricular actives. I would love to have my children in private school.

There is no comparison dealing with experience children more or less follow the same road and develop the need for experiment with life -peer pressure is responsible and is present in private and public schools. Private Education just delays these pressures. So what are the good things..It's all about opportunities and I suppose in Private Education as long as you can afford the school fees, parents are of high professional standards and you excel at least in one area sport or academics rub shoulders with the teachers Private is good, however there are no demands on you socially or academically when you attend a public school its up to the individual to achieve.

Good - smaller classes, more attention from the teachers, different teaching curriculum, not as many influences from the outside.
Bad - public schools funding from the government. In Texas, from 3rd grade on the children take TAKS test.(Texas Assesment of Knowledge and Skills) This is a good thing I think because it tells you where your child is having problems or if they are grasping the information they need to know to go on to the next grade. Private schools do not have to gives these tests.
I went to a private catholic elementary school. The school did not have any sort of music program, or extra curricular activities outside of football, soccer or cheerleading. I then went to a public middle school and was shocked and in awe at how different it was.
I myself cannot afford to put my 3 children through private school, but if I had my choice, I would let them go to public schools anyway because I feel that they are getting more out of the public school system then they would in a private school enviroment. They are less sheltered to what is out there for them.

There are many goods and bads about private school.
The goods:
Better education, more connections, better people, safer, in with kids of your own level
The bads:
Other kids may be rich and that may be uncomfortable, Strictness, Conformity, Cliques, Social Status, Pricey
Private school depends on what kind of person you are. If you're comfortable with being with others who are more upper class, you'll fit right in with private school. But, unfortunately, if you're smart, but aren't as rich as other kids, you may be excluded and feel out of place.
