Tell 'em the truth not prepared to pay £19 & in the process in sending for new one. If they cannot handle that check the computer fuzz. You know your clean it's their job to accept that. Their lack of beleive in human dency / honesty is not your problem. Don't worry I've been driving around with one head light & seen over 20 police cars in the last mth never been stopped. Just don't look at them or act suspicous they wont even notice.

If it was withdrawn / suspended then you technically no longer hold a licence in which case if the police are feeling grumpy then you will get done for driving otherwise in accordance with a licence Sec87(1) Road Traffic Act 1988 and probably no insurance as you cannot be insured if you do not hold a valid license.

They may also not bother / realise unless its as a result of an accident or they are traffic obsessed "rats" but its a gamble you take.

I'm not sure about UK laws, but if they said all you needed to do was pay the fee for the photo card, then get a receipt for the money you are sending for the new one. This will show you are in process of getting a valid license. Unfortunately, though, your first license being suspended doesn't help. You may get off with just a warning. By the way, if they don't have your photo on file, how would sending off for a new one do any good, unless you are sending a photo with your fee?

Your old licence is no longer valid. When the police stop you, they normally check your licence against the police database. If you were caught driving without a valid licence, you'd probably face a large fine and a longer ban.

You do need a licence to drive so if the police pulled you over then you would be prosecuted. If you had an accident they would throw the book at you. Check with Swansea to see if you can drive whilst it is being issued.

Surely it would depend on why you were suspended as to whether it is now clean? you will still have to apy for a new licence and photocard. Would suggest it is not adviseable to drive without it.

I dont know about the UK, but in the US, as long as you do not do anything to attract attention and your car is tagged, it is hard to get pulled over at all. If you get pulled over with a suspended liscense over here ( i think this is what you are talking about?) you are arrested and your car is confiscated.

You would be driving illegally. You would not be in possession of a proper valid licence.

You would be arrested for driving with an expired/suspended license. In the US, it is a crime punishable by jail time and fines.

usually it will just be a warning, just tell them that you are in the process of getting a new one...it just hasn't been sent to you yet. Just try not to get pulled over too, that's never good!
