it is a dell demention 3100. i need to add three more ports so i can dock a weather station , ipod , an the web camra.

Get an external 4 port USB hub
It plugs into an existing USB input and would allow you to connect up to 4 more devices
the only draw back would be when trying to use all those devices at once as they would be sharing the one USB port
The main thing to look for would be the cord length because you would want to have enough length to be able to sit the hub on your desk

Buy a internal/external USB hub [ around $20 for 6 ports]whichever you prefer...[personally I would prefer an internal one as external is some extra mess you know] check your computer for an extra PCI slot, if you like an internal one...otherwise external one will use one of your USB to get connected. That the only way extend your usb ports/... I am not aware of any other method of doing it...Good Luck
