are cats allowed to eat rice?

its just a random question that popped up but i have some rice i cant finish and was wondering if there allowed to have it

Yes it's fine. In fact, the better cat foods have brown rice instead of corn. White rice isn't as good, but probably still better than corn. In any case, fine for them to eat your leftovers. Just make sure you haven't seasoned it with anything bad, like onions or spicy stuff.

Yes, cats can eat rice. I would suggest heating the rice and mixing it with some dry food. He or she should really like this!

cooked rice is okay as long as it is no more than 20% of their diet..

good quality foods use rice.. cheap food use corn or wheat.. if you are feeding a cheap food then your cat isnt getting much meat already so the rice isnt a good idea because it is taking away from the meat amount your cat should have... if your kitty is on a good food then a small amount of rice wont hurt it.

I have a cat, and one day she climbed onto the stove, and knocked over a pot of rice, she liked the rice, and ran!
She didnt come back into the kitchen untill the ric was cleaned up... so Im taking it, no.

My great aunt (the catwomen, lover of all cats) occationally feeds her six cats boiled rice mixed with a little water and powdered milk. They love it! It must be good for them because her cats are very healthy, to say the least.

I wouldn't take anyone's answer as fact. I would consult a vet before feeding rice to a cat. I was told it is very unhealthy.

Dont know much about cats but I would have thought it would make him constipated, dont think the cat would eat it anyway.
