My dauhter got engeged on boxing day to her boyfriend. He bought the ring himself ,guessed the size ,and it was just what she would have chosen herself..She was overwhelmed, she did expect it to happen soon, but it was such a lovely suprise. He did it the right way, asked her father first, then gave her a boquet of roses, and brought out the champagne.please dont think im bragging ,but we are so happy for her,as she deserves good luck,as she has had quite bad luck in the past...You dont have to answer this if you dont want to,but if you do it would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in anticipation for same.

This is just what every mother would love for her daughter isn't it?

Not only many congratulations to the happy couple, but also to you for getting yourself such a lovely son-in-law to be and also to him for having the luck to be inheriting such a thoughtful and kind mother in law who is proud enough to let us all share the news

Bless you all, it's lovely to read emails like this

Congratulations to your daughter Donald and i hope it will always be like that for her especially as you say life has not always been good to her and yes he did do it the correct way which is very rare these days so I just hope they will spend the rest of their lives together and be very happy. Good Luck to you both

Of course!

Please wish your daughter (and future son-in-law!!) all the best. There's alot of planning (and expense, typically for the Bride's parents so brace yourself!) ahead but there's loads of fun and excitement too.

If they want to start planning the wedding already (and my advice would be that it's never too early to start), and need some advice, I am often about for ideas and help. Alternatively, point them the direction of websites such as weddingsday, hitched or confetti.

Best of luck 'daughter of cymru'!

Congratulations to your daughter and future son in law. He must be a real gem and to go to those lengths and actually be brave enough to choose the ring himself - wow. You sound a very proud mum and so you should be - good luck to them both

Congratulations to all the family. You all sound as though you like your future son in law very much which can be such a rarity. Enjoy the forthcoming wedding and preparations. I hope they have a very happy fulfilling marriage.
