i want to beleive in god and go to heaven, but i cant. I have gone to church a few times with my family but it felt wrong, out of place. I have to many quistions about religion: which one should i pick? if i pick the wrong one will i go to hell? why are there so many wars over religion? and so many more... I have come to the belief that im a good person i try to live my life through the golden rule "do to others as u would want others to do to you" As far as i know we only have one life to live so im going to try and live a great life. Im going to do the things that make me happy. I also know that there are billions of people in this world some evil but mostly good. I beleive that we should do what makes us happy without harming one another. just my thoughts thanks for reading. U all have a nice day :)

I always thought that it was kind of interesting how something that supposedly spreads the word of tolerance and loving, and forgiving is the exact thing that causes wars. Ironic if you ask me. I am just like you, there are too many questions that I have that believers cannot answer. I just don't know, it's hard for me to believe. I believe that if there really is a god, then he would be nice enough to let people into heaven even if they don't believe in him.

The bad news is that you're not going to heaven, since it's a made up place. The good news is that no matter what you do, you will never go to hell, which is also a made up place. It doesn't matter what you pick - you don't have to pick anything. The golden rule is really all the guidance you need; anything else is just arbitrary, and actually conflicts with the golden rule. Make yourself happy, make others happy, think for yourself, and don't worry about any gods - besides - if they existed, how do you know they would judge you based on whether you believe in them, and not based on how good of a person you are?

Stop being scared by made up monsters who threaten to torture you forever unless you believe in them without proof. What kind of sick twisted bastard would do that?

Enahs,

There are so many people searching for answers. You aren't alone! Just because you didn't feel "right" at the church with your family doesn't mean that you wouldn't somewhere else. I encourage you to try other churches and other religions. They can differ vastly (even within the same religion).

I'm a life-long Christian and it's very important to me. But, I'll say that RELIGION per se isn't what's truly important. What's important is that you believe in God and know that He made you, has a plan for you and loves you without condition.

I'm not sure whether any religion has it exactly right. For me, Lutheranism comes as close as it gets. But, any religion that says you must believe what they believe or you're going to Hell is wrong.

God said in the Bible that you can't earn a place a heaven. Good works can't save you. Nothing can save you but the grace and love of God. It's a gift. He wants you to believe in him and accept him. If you fully accept him and want to follow what he says, you'll naturally wind up doing good things.

Everyone gets so caught up in this religion and that. What's a sin and what isn't. I think it makes God sad to see that so many miss the point, especially around this time of the year when we celebrate Santa instead of the amazing gift God gave to us in his Son.

He just wants you to love him and others. Try to live your life the way you've described and it'll make a better world. But, ultimately, it's the love of God that will save you.

Peace to you.

Many Churches have rendered themselves useless. preaching everything accept the doctrine in the Bible. It is possible that you simply picked the wrong Church.
When I became a Christian I refused to go to Church until I had read the Bible from cover to cover. People can lead you wrong, about what God wants. But if the God of the Bible is the right God, then the Bible when read with an open heart on context will not lead you wrong. (But you must read an entire book at a time. Reading just a verse is worse than not reading it at all)

You have allot of questions, If you like what I said so far please e-mail me by clicking on my profile and I will write more.
I will answer more of your question if you respond.

As long as you are looking within for your truth, and not adopting a belief system, just because someone else told you what you should believe. As long as you are following your own path and listening to your own inner voice, then whatever path you choose to follow is the right one for you. Each person has to find their own way, and that is precisely what God wants each of us to do, despite what some people might try to tell you. Also, since hell doesn't exist, I really don't think you have to worry about going there.

I actually have some concepts on faith. i'm raised in a God-fearing, non secular relatives(Christian), yet i imagine i'm slowly dropping my faith. I had a tough adolescence(yet would not each and every man or woman in recent times?), and definitely, provided that I had to bypass through one of those vast quantity of issues, struggle through a lot, blah blah blah, i grew to develop into skeptic about this "God". I figured that, "good day, if god exists, why did He make me bypass through this? i'm only a baby, why me?" yet, I nonetheless tried protecting faith. I nonetheless have somewhat, yet i have strayed from my relatives's Christianity, and that i think I lean somewhat more desirable to reincarnation, yet I nonetheless do not recognize. All i recognize is that there must be more desirable that operating our butts of for 60 years, kicking the bucket, and that is the right, we are fortunate if all and sundry really cares about us when we die. I do exactly not recognize what takes position.

I too have had some of those same questions. It is my belief that belief in God is taught. We are not born with an innate knowledge of Him, we are told by our parents to believe. Or something happens to us in our lives to make us believe. I believe in God, but not religion. I went from church to church until I found one I liked and felt that I belonged. You may try that, travel around and see what "fits". Good luck to you. And God Bless!

Why do you and so many others ask an encyclopedia full of questions? I can't answer all of them in one gulp, so to speak. You would do much better to see a pastor of a First Baptist Church, Methodist, Presbyterian, or an Assembly of God Church and ask him these questions, than to ask them here. This way, you will get accurate answers. God bless.

believing in God or a higher power doesn't mean you have to pick any particular religion to follow. you have the right idea. don't worry so much. if you are able to live in a way that you can be proud of and you feel that you are a good person you are moving forward in the right direction. i love God but i think for myself. everything you need to know lies within you.
