Go to college and major in fashion, marketing, business or journalism - major in one but take courses related for a minor.

Go to a bookstore and look for books about becoming an editor and magazines for authors, or publishing magazines.

But the best advice is - go to college!
You will never regret obtaining a degree in higher edcuation.
