I have the same problem. Mine developed once I started having children. They were never "zits", per se...neither whiteheads, nor blackheads...just raised bumps. I have them on the backs of my arms, and on my upper thighs/legs mainly. A few develop on my bum, but rarely.

Turns out, it's related to a hormone imbalance (skin unevenly shedding it's dead skin cells due to variance in hormone production). Women should have be relatively balanced in estrogen/progesterone production until the beginning of their 3rd week in their cycle. As menses nears, your progesterone drops. If you overproduce estrogen and the progesterone drops, the gap is so wide that it affects you in terms of mood swings (PMS), skin problems, mental fogginess, fatigue, etc. I'm one of the lucky ones who overproduces estrogen. So, I use an all-natural progesterone supplement cream from Arbonne that I apply twice a day during the last two weeks in my cycle every month (when my levels are most out of whack). In addition to the cream, I avoid most dairy, which naturally contains female cow estrogen. Those simple changes have made a HUGE difference in my symptoms!!!

To help combate the bumps, I regularly scrub those problem areas every day in the shower (to help regulate my dead skin cell shedding). If I were you, I'd stay away from organic-type body washes/scrubs (especially salt or sugar scrubs). They contain lots of oils that will exacerbate your problem. If you want natural or organic, try to stick with bar soaps that you rub onto a loofah or sponge. Be sure to change/clean your loofah/sponge on a regular basis, too.

Good luck and look into hormonal imbalance if you're interested. If that's the case with you, it'll be something you battle the rest of your life, most likely. It's just a matter of finding what works for you.

see a doctor. it sounds like a skin problem, or you've been in the sun way too much. but unless you've been in the sun with you're bum exposed, it shouldn't be spotty. so see a doctor.

What kind of spots? Are they acne, or are they white spots?
