First you should of had your b/f go to your dad and ask for you, that is the right and proper thing to do. Then they can give their blessing and you will have started out your engagement on the right foot. Go back and do it correctly and your parents will respect you both for it.

Entirely depends on how old you are !!! If you are under 20... they will freak out !!! Over 25 they will be overjoyed !!! 20-25 only you can answer !!
