i have flushed it it will heat up once i turn it on then it turns cold.

1. Sounds most likely to be a stuck thermostat (stuck in the open position), this prevents the water from warming up.

Other possibilities include:
2. a clogged heater core. When you flushed the radiator, you loosened up some debris which ended up clogging the heater core.
3. Flap on heater control not turning properly to direct air over heater core.

Replace Thermostat

it is very likely that you need to replace the thermostat.it sounds like it is closed when you start the engine and then once it warms up the thermostat opens and does not cycle correctly. to test if you have a faulty thermostat just pull it out and put in a pan of hot water and take it out several times pay attention to the thermostat action it should close and open accordingly.

Is there a puddle in the passenger floorboard? If so, your heater core is shot. Check the thermostat as well. Those are the only two problems that would be related.

i would check the thermostat, and the heater core. sound to me like, sense you did a flush, the thermostat,and or heater core are clodded up. that happened to one of my car's one time after a flush.

sounds like you may have the wrronge thermostate in it.
