While the previous answers are correct, if you are wondering what the bible means by abomination, it is a translation of the Hebrew to'ba which refers to that which is unclean. There is not the sense of loathing or wickedness that there is in English.

While it is true that homosexuality is labeled to'ba so are a number of things which, to us, seem far less loathsome. These would include religious dictates such as sacrificing blemished animals or allowing the uncircumcised to enter the sanctuary, sexual practices such as homosexuality or having sex with a menstruating woman, and general behavior such as cursing your parents, lying and stealing.

Oh, and by the way, if any of you were planning on putting a prostitute's earnings in the collection plate, that's to'ba too.

Go in peace to love and serve the truth.

It means that God doesn't like it or even hates it. An act that is an abomination to God.

Unclean is a different word and means dirty or contaminated. Smelly.
