I'm not talking about a roast either. I'm talking about pre-cut 3/4" thick steaks.

Put the steak in a shallow baking dish, pour a can of Cream of Mushroom soup over it, cover with aluminum foil, bake at 350 for about an hour and a half. You can add chunks of potato to the pan also, if you wish. Or make mashed potatoes and pour the mushroom soup gravy in the pan over them. This is one of our favorite ways to eat steak or roast.

Not unless you have a cast iron pan.

If you do, let the meat warm up to near room temperature, rub with olive oil, salt and pepper and then brown/blacken it on both sides.

Put it in the oven (at about 325F) to finish with a little dob of butter on top (if the steak is less than an inch thick and you like it medium rare or less you probably don't even need the oven.)

This is our second favorite way to cook steak (if we can't grill outdoors).

no. the only steak-like cut that cooks well in the oven (not broiler) is London broil cut. try pan-frying your steak on the range instead. super hot - super heavy pan, salt & pepper on steak, tiny bit of oil on steak, throw in pan, sear 1-2 minutes per side for med.rare. good luck

yup sear steaks very quickly on stove top after seasoning with salt and pepper, put in oven on cooling rack on top of a cookie sheet, keep the steak off the bottom of cookie sheet,, cook 7 minutes at 350

I've done London Broil in oven... Wrapped it in foil (after salt and peppering...)..."Baked" it at 375 for 30 minutes....It honestly turned out pretty good! It wasn't as pretty, though, as from a grill or broiler.

I always bake my steaks. My family loves it. season steaks with meat tenderizer, salt & pepper. wrap each individually in foil. bake at 350 for 1 hour. They taste great & are very tender.
