I say "Heaven" in quotes because I just mean any sort of eternal afterlife that's not reincarnation. Obviously if you're reincarnated you get to do the human struggle all over again. Or do you think Heaven is sort of like living on Earth? Or do you think our minds/consciousnesses will be different such that we actually like perfection?

Well yeah this is an opinion type question! Opinions welcomed, facts unnecessary.

I don't know about some of you, but I like searching for things. Knowing everything is boring, what do you do with it once you know it? That's it. Even if you could fly to Jupiter it'd be like "Why bother, I already know every feasible thing there is to know about it." I find fun is in the adventure, the quest, the learning. Discovering the UNknown.

Peter D: wow, what a great example you have set for fellow Christians! I hope you never wonder why people run screaming away from you and come to the conclusion that Christians are all assholes.

As a lapsed Hindu I wonder if I'll be reincarnated as a vegetable for my sins. Now that would be more boring than heaven.

Your logic is very clear. The notion of heaven as an ethereal place makes no sense, not if you actually think about it. But everyone's feelings about it's existence are different - as unique as each individual. I personally cannot fathom something that is not explainable by science. But I can see how you might somehow "buy" into the notion of heaven if you are indoctrinated from birth. To me, it is much like be living in Santa Clause. Only for some odd reason most people don't seem to outgrow their innocence and naivety about the entire concept.

Heaven is too much fun for us to even imagine. The people who have seen it and lived to tell about it say it is not boring all. People are not sitting around on a cloud doing nothing. They say it's the ultimate experience and everything on earth is totally boring compared to there. I think once we die and are separated from our physical bodies it will be easy for us to be good and perfect. Our bodies are what makes it so hard not to sin and to believe.

Since our spirit has a higher consciousness then our mind and physical body,I would say heaven is a place of reward, happiness and goodness totally absent from all negative or dark qualities we face on earth.Since our journey on earth is the place where we are to face challenges and struggle, heaven is our ultimate reward for the tests we have to face here on earth. This is how I see it.There is no boredom in it.

heaven was created simply because life used to be really bad. there was no foreseeable relief from the treacheries of the world so they made up something to keep people up beat. that is all. otherwise suicide would have been even more of an epidemic. It served a purpose for its time but it's time has past and needs disposed of. We are creatures on a planet - we live, reproduce, and die ~ nothing more. It may be hard for people to accept which is why they fill their heads with nonsense (as history has shown we do !) but i think it's better to accept the truth. life is much easier

I don't think Heaven will ever be boring--we will have infinite knowledge and we are able to do so many things that are impossible to do here. Our minds/consciousnesses will be different, definitely. I don't know if many people want to do the human struggle again, but you never know!!

No..God is not under time (i.e., He does not have the sense of past, present and future as we do)...That is eternity...so, if you are in eternal life; that is living without the sense of time, you will not get bored for sure.
Here is why:
Think of how we determine time, through the sun, moon or whatever.
There is that bible verse saying that one day for the Lord is a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day.

The Heaven that is real- the one described in the bible will be anything but boring for me, and all of those people who chose to accept Christ as their Savior. I will be able to worship my God face to face one day, and that gives me hope. In this life, God never promised it to be easy, and for my family it has not been. Health and financial issues constantly- as Paul said "to live is Christ and to die is gain". As I live this life with its struggles I can learn to be more like Jesus, and be a loving caring person who is strong because of Him- when he takes me home to be with Him= there will be no more tears, or pain, and that is awesome to me.

Who said that there would be no challenges? Challenge is good, so long as we enjoy a good challenge and overcome it. We do this a lot in this life, and whenever we win, it brings us joy, so just imagine how much MORE joy we get in Heaven! Have you never been challenged in a school ball game, and have your team win? Remember how happy this made you?

Let me answer that.
Heaven is not what you actually mean......actually what you are reffering to is "Nirvana" which is a state of non existence in this physical world but in unison with God. In this state the soul unites with the "Brahman" and does not come under the cycle of birth-rebirth. It is a state of eternal Bliss!! So no question of getting bored.
The Heaven what you are mentioning is on earth itself. You are in heaven if you are having a great life and in Hell if you are leading a miserable life. Heaven and Hell both are a property of this physical world! and are the result of Karma's done in this world. ....And these Karmas, good or bad; bind you to re-incarnation. If your Karmas are good you take a birth in a good body and enjoy (Heaven). If your Karmas are bad then you get a body with a miserable life (Hell). .....But if your Karmas are above good or bad i.e. karmas without selfish motive then you unite with God and are freed from the clutches of re-incarnation. It may seem as simple as that........but it takes long....to realize this!!!
