Catholic priests are married to GOD thats why they wear a wedding band. So,if they can be married to GOD the holy ghost,we have a huge problem. While gays can not marry, catholic priests have been doing this to one and the same "HE" GOD not to mention a ghost for a very long time! That is just a bit messed up I feel.

What do you think?

It is definitly real messed up.
I love your question. It made me laugh.

I know. If they think a person marrying another person of the same gender is weird, how about being married to a corpse(ghost)? Now that is just plain strange, in my book.

I can't stop laughing. GOOD QUESTION! Lol!!

#1, priests don't marry God. They represent God in human form. Nuns do marry Jesus. They consumate the marriage with a priest, that's why their "habits" are so big and flowing, to hide pregnancy. Ever wonder why there are so many Catholic orphans homes? #2,gays can't marry because it a sin against God, in most all religions. priest mess with little children, mostly boys, because simply put, they can shame the innocent child into anything, claiming to be God. What little child would disobey what they have been told all their life, they call the priest father, yet scripture CLEARLY says, Call NO man FATHER but ME!!! If you ever study the history of the catholic religion, it would scare the dickins out of you. It did me. I know a former nun and her stories of how she had to live are horrific. I do study a lot and have only told you what I know are facts, not my opinions. I truly don't want to upset anyone out there, we all only answer to God about our own life styles.

When they say that catholic priests marry god, it is a figure of speaking. It is making a commitment to follow and worship god. I think that you may want to do a little more research prior to complaining...

Get things straight honey. Priest's are "married" symbolically to the church, which has historically been identified as the "bride" of God. The priest is not married to God literally. So, don't try to twist things to fit the gay marriage thing. It just don't fly that way.

saying they are married is a bit over the top... they are dedicated and try to follow the example of Jesus. They take a vow to devote their life to God.
the gay marriage issue is totally separate.... and for sure the catholic church will not see eye to eye with gays on this... so just live your life, and be kind to others... and do what make u happy. quit trying to find flaws, in a completely flawed world... there are enough already.

I think your facts are flawed. Priests are not married to God, nuns are; and married is not the correct word.

Well I think everyone should be able to marry even if who you marry happens to be an invisible non-existent being-God is not a he nor a she God is unattainable we cannot know god fully because we are simple beings-that's my belief anyway

Priests are making it up as they go along, just like every other aspect of Christianity...made up by ppl in high places of power to keep the masses ignorant and passive so they don't get out of line.
