I have a GHD straightener and want to curl my hair but can’t get it to curl, I have tried to wrap my hair around it but it doesn’t curl. Any suggestions?

honey what is a striaghtner....it straightens your hair not curl.
for that you need to buy a curling iron which is actually to curl your hair. go to a near by store and find out abt a good curling iron there are many different types available.

For all the people who say straighteners cant curl hair obviously don't own GHDS that why they are special because they can be used to straighten and curl and if you look at the instruction booklet that comes with them it explains how to do different style with GHDS.

Well its just the same as using normal ones apart from GHD are a lot quicker so you clamp your hair (smaller the better it depends how hot they are) then twist once then slowly move your Straighteners down your hair. Its quite hard to explain just ask your friends or mum to show you. Sorry if this hasn't been much help. x you should try youtube!!

Starting at the crown, take a small section of hair and spray it with a light mist of ghd Iron Oil. Now wind this section around your finger to the ends of the hair. Use the thumb and index finger of your other hand to hold the section in place. As you ease out your finger feed the section of hair into the irons and hold for 5 to 10 seconds to create glossy, spiral curls. Repeat this process with other small sections of hair. For a longer lasting curl secure each section with a hairpin. Once each section is secured take out the pins and release the curl.

Hi there,

Next time you are in getting your hair done, ask your stylist to show you (tip: every hairdresser loves to show off their skills!)

Failing that, we've got an article on our site that takes you through creating curls using ghd hair straighteners and products from the ghd thermodynamics range:

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Hiya, visit this site (the official GHD website) for a step by step guide and a video to show you how to curl your hair: http://www.ghdhair.com/index.php?c=uk&p=TR-LK-TE-SC

In response to samina's answer, you can use a curling iron to curl your hair, but GHDs work just as efficiently (if not more so). hope this helps x

take a small section of hair and put it into the ghds as you would for straightning but instead twist the straightner from the roots to the tips.
it takes some practice but i always do my hair like that now!

always use heat defence spray!

hold your hair in between the straightners about mid way and as if your gonna flick it out pull straightners down length of hair will create a wave rather than a curl
