No matter how much they try to disguise it, Christianity is all about war. With the fall of the Roman Empire, the librarian of Alexandria was pulled off her carriage and skinned alive. Literacy dropped. Even the Pope had to have the Bible read to him. In the first crusade, Christians killed tens of thousands of people they called "infidels". The Children's Crusade (1212) caused the deaths of nearly 50,000 children. Preachers sentenced to death and executed thousands during the Inquisition (1233-1834) for heresy and witchcraft. There were the Salem witch trials (1692) in America. The 17th Century Thirty Years War (Catholics v. protestants) wiped out tens of millions in Europe. In the Taiping Rebellion in China in the 1850's a Christian cult started a war that resulted in the slaughter of twenty million people. In the Holocaust six million Jews were murdered. Muslims and Christians in Bosnia reached a death toll of over 250,000.

War and Peace...it's both....wow that was simple.
Regarding Joseph's father...the term son can also mean grandson or descendant. Also, some scholars say that Jacob was his father and Heli his legal father but both were from David. Also, some say Heli was Mary's father and put that way since lineage was traced thru the man
Now the others. Are you really talking about the day of the week. Now that's a weak argument. The day doesn't really matter anyways. It's what He did that counts. This just shows that the Bible was written by different witnesses yet all their accounts line up...oh, except the day I guess. gee whiz... I know you've got better questions than that ;)
(oh my mistake *slapping forehead*...you said who was at the tomb...well, both were. John just mentioned one. I thought this was the sabbath question)
Oh, and I don't think I've ever thumped a Bible.

I really don't know what you mean by a Bible thumper, but that's OK.
I've learned over the years to not respond to what you've requested. If one particular scripture is asked to be expounded upon, I usually decline. My reason is there are too many other scriptures surrounding that one scripture and taken out of content will give it an entirely different meaning.
My advise is for you to ask God to grant you wisdom and knowledge to search the scriptures for yourself. Take care!

not contradictions, but thanks for the offer.
1st supposed contradiction:
god can be a warrior and a god of peace. how? god brought peace to the nations by sending his son to save jews and gentiles alike (ephesians 2:11-22), but he is a god of war because he wins wars for his chosen people, like in the passage you pointed out.
2nd supposed contradiction:
can you imagine the length of a list of generations from the beginning of time? no, it's clear to us from other geneological lists as well as this one that generations were often skipped, and a few family heroes highlighted in the family line. ultimately both heli and jacob begat joseph--one as a father and one as a grandfather/older ancestor.
3rd supposed contradiction:
who was at the empty tomb? i'd imagine everyone who got the chance, at some point. but in this case, there is no direct contradiction. the lists simply don't include every name.
you have yet to present a valid contradiction.

oh gee. I guess we never heard of war and peace. wow! what a contradiction! He is also the God who created good and evil! The US waged war against the japanese then they both signed a peace treaty. what a hoax!
All the second set states is that Josephs's father's name was Jacob and if you read further Mary's father is named Heli. Duh!
I am so glad peopel like you do this, just to give others chance to show how deception is attempted.
The 3rd set of idiosy only states that MAthew and mark stated it was both marys, while john only mentions one mary. so what?
please come up with some more. I really like this game.

If anyone is ignorant, it is Chiara. She is generalizing that all atheists are ignorant. Look up the word. I guarantee you that I am far from ignorant when it comes to the Bible, scripture, or the history of Christianity.
In answer to the question, true, many of those are taken out of context, but there are literally thousands of biblical issues/mistakes/mistranslations/added content throughout the Bible (in/out of context of course). I think the point you are trying to make is that if the Bible is infallible, why are there so many mistakes?

Sorry but there are no contradictions here. Just so you understand, people can walk and chew gum at the same time. I am my father's son and my sister's brother. I'm on vacation but I worked in the garden yesterday. I live in California but sometimes I live in the Greek Isles.

Firstly let’s put in all down and make this simple. We all know that there are four Epistles of the Apostles; Mathew, Mark, Luke and John right? Now think in terms of representation here. Let’s say you read the New York Times, next the Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun and the Boston Inquirer all in succession, reading the same front page story on the current war torn state of Israel. All will tell the same story with many correlating facts and perhaps notable references right? It’s just that each author, though engorged in studies, finding relatively the same details and first hand juice, will have their own original words put down but within the same context, minus a few snippets of info or what not. Each person will have slightly different to much different accounts as to what they found out through research and/or first hand contact in Israel. Although, how ever or where ever they came about inspiration it has to be as accurate and original as possible to make the reading note worthy, plausible and plagiary free.
The same goes for the Gospels. For quick instance we can look at the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was taken away for His sacrifice for the world. There was a slave of the high priest that Peter attacked by cutting off his ear with a sword.
Jesus replied like this in Mathew 26:50-54:
50 Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him. 51 But one of the men with Jesus pulled out his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, slashing off his ear.
52 “Put away your sword,” Jesus told him. “Those who use the sword will die by the sword. 53 Don’t you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands[a] of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly? 54 But if I did, how would the Scriptures be fulfilled that describe what must happen now?”
(New Living Translation)
Next go to Mark 14:46-49 and see the slight difference:
46 Then the others grabbed Jesus and arrested him. 47 But one of the men with Jesus pulled out his sword and struck the high priest’s slave, slashing off his ear.
48 Jesus asked them, “Am I some dangerous revolutionary, that you come with swords and clubs to arrest me? 49 Why didn’t you arrest me in the Temple? I was there among you teaching every day. But these things are happening to fulfill what the Scriptures say about me.” (New Living Translation)
See the slight difference in details? The part where Jesus scolded Peter for cutting the slave was left out of Mark’s Gospel because it had already been said in Mathew’s Gospel. Then in Mark we see Jesus speaking about the severity and standoffish precautions of the arrest scene instead of yelling at Peter for getting violent. The mention of angels being sent as help to stop the matter is also not included due to prior reference. Not that these things did not happen, because all four men were there, its just that the extra words just are not that pertinent for keeping the story rolling because the other details work the same way. It doesn’t take away from the truth of the story. If you are reading the Bible like you should and remembering the things that happen as you read in the first place you would site the differences and notice how each man saw a great savior get mistreated for doing right. It’s called studying. When you care you learn right? Also you have to consider that each man was standing in a different place looking at different things, hearing different words of the same moment thus giving this all a personal touch of emotion and attention to different details, like we can see today if you observe people in a crowd. People all witness main events but also other, slighter details according to personality and individual keenness.
Let’s say (I) see a kid let go of his balloon by accident while running. (You) may first see a crying child pointing upward after he lets go of the balloon just to figure out that it is the balloon he let go for some reason, perhaps by accident, otherwise why would he be crying? We saw the same thing at about the same time but noticed slightly different details pertaining to the same incident. Do you see my point? And even if we saw the same thing entirely you may have taken into account details that meant more to you. So what and so be it. The kid lost his balloon by goofing off and being a little careless. This is part one –lol.
Oh, do you have time for me to expound upon the Hebrew and Greek texts to which you so egregiously claim to have finite misrepresentations in them? Number one; you have to understand God represents Himself with a multitude of different names for the soul purpose of our understanding that He is more than able to manifest Himself to us in any way we may need. He is love and principle to the core. Where do you think we get morality form? Humans are not smart enough to conceive of such a confounding yet simplistic concept by which all people must live by in order for a planet to survive in a communal existence. And how about we mention sex! Adam was first observing the animals in their various mating rituals before God put him to sleep in order to take his rib, yes the one we men are missing today, so that Eve may be his helper and mate. He had to apply knowledge of some newly discovered activities in order to have Cain and Able just for starters.
