Does God Exist?

2006-12-28 08:55:11 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 3 0

If you really want to know then read Richard Dawkin's excellent book The God Delusion.

It will scrape away the superstitious nonsense and damn right lies which religious leaders have been preaching for millennia.

Remember, bit by bit all of religions great claims have been proved wrong. Up until the 16th century they claimed that everything in the universe rotated around the Earth. Men were burned at the stake for stating that the earth actually rotated around the sun. These poor individuals were proved right.

Likewise, up until the mid 19th century it was claimed by the church that the world was only 6,000 years old and that it had been created by God exactly as described in Genesis. Again, after much derision it was shown by Darwin that this was incorrect.

How can a religion like this be expected to be taken seriously when all these so called truths which it has spouted have been proven to be so absolutely false. Surely, if they spoke the word of God as they claim then God would have know that the sun does not revolve around the earth.

Religion is superstitious garbage. Science is the light.

He most certainly does, and the love which is manifest through believers all over the world will demonstrate that more clearly then any argument heretofore established. Look at your original schools and hospitals the world over, especially in the poorer countries of the world, they were developed by outreaching missionaries, who performed their services for the benefit of those whom they served and not for personal gain.

Let us look at the world around you, the entire complexity with which it was created, designed and how it runs. It points to a divine origin. In fact if you read "The Case for A Creator" you will come to realize that there is a lack of validity for those theories which are designed to undermine His existence.

No, there is no god or higher power, if this I am sure. I feel it is sad that so many believe in this fairy tale but if it gives peace of mind go for it. Far too many problems of this world revolve around belief systems. Not that man would not kill without it, waring is instinctual. However, without a belief in superior being there would be on less excuse for it.
