Unnecessary foolishness.

Necessary evil. Well, to MOST it would be...if you interrogated a bible thumper, then he'd probably admit to it being a necessary evil. Religion is all about control. If the Bible did not put restrictions on humans, saying that there are "sins" and that committing these sins would put you in Hell after you die, what would the world be like? You might believe in morals, but some people gain all of their morals from religion...They don't do certain things because their religion looks down upon them and creates consequences for those actions. Do you believe in true human morals? Does an average human believe that murder is wrong and takes their own guilt as the ultimate consequence, if not the law? Religion was a plan to control the inner "evil" desires of humans. Did they do a good job? It's all crazy.

I am a christian. I have a relationship with Jesus. Not relationship with a religion. He is my best friend. A religion can be evil. The religion of satan. My friend Jesus is not foolishness, Would call the relationship you have with your family foolishness? Psalm 94:8
Take heed, you senseless ones among the people;
you fools, when will you become wise?

It's a chance to worship with people who share the same beliefs, If you are a christian, the Bible tells us to "not forsake coming together to worship". I don't think it's foolish or evil to seek the joy of celebrating love of God and being able to express that joy in a communal atmosphere! Where it is greatly magnified, as is the teaching of your particular belief. Learning and worshiping are beneficial to a healthy human heart and mind and soul.

Religion ( I am talking about Christianity)is inherently good. It teaches you how to recognize the difference between the good and the bad, how to live a good life, to care about others, especially the poor ,weak, the less fortunate. I don't smoke, drink, have any tatoo and piercing, because I believe that our body is temple of God.That's what the Bible says. and I am glad that I'm healthy.
There are good and bad followers of the religions, that's why there were wars between religions. To be brief, that's the followers/the people who are evil, not the religion.
That's my opinion as a Christian.

it's unnecessary to some, God knows we need religion, cause we are all at different levels of spirituality, it's only evil if you individually make it that way.
