No, eating chocolate doesn't directly cause acne, but some people could experience more break outs after consuming chocolate due to that fact that it has been proven in some cases to be connected to an oil called sebum which can block pores and cause acne. Some people and scientists believe that there is a connection between the high fat in chocolate and sebum, a fatty oil. There is research to support it either way. The general consensus though is that it will NOT cause acne. Hormones are the chief cause of acne. So go on and grab that bar of chocolate.

I don't think that chocolate has proven to be the cause of break outs. Although I have been eating on a box of See's since Christmas Day and I noticed a bump or two, although that could have been from the facial scrub that I used yesterday.
See???? Who actually knows whether chocolate is the cause of break outs.

NO !
It's a Myth !
Or so we're told.
I do break out.
I, at times, use this as an indicator to stop eating chocolate, when my brain is telling me "more, more, much more".
I have a weak constitution -- what can I say ?
Reading other posts here, it appears others do not break out, or they are not eating as much chocolate as I -- it doesn't call them as it calls me.
So, rather than making a general statement: If, after eating chocolate, you break out in a consistent manner, then you. like I, have the affliction.
Good luck, and watch your chocolate intake.

that is technically a myth, because the chocolate itself doesnt do anything. its the hormones they give cows to produce an unnatural amount of milk that screw with your hormones, which is why they advise not to drink lots of milk when you are having your period (it makes your PMS really bad). people say that the pasterization process should get rid of those hormones, but thats not true. it only gets rid of bacteria in the milk. the best (but sadly most expensive) way to go is eat organic chocolate... it tastes better too.

No there is no evidence i heard for this
Actually dark chocolate is supposed to be very good for you!
Apparently, there is a link between skin health and cocoa flavonols, those compounds that are increasingly associated with cardiovascular and other good health. In skin, the flavonols have been shown to reduce skin's sensitivity to UV radiation, increased blood flow to skin, and improvement of skin texture by increasing its density, thickness, and hydration.

No what does chocolate do. It doesn't help at all. It just makes you fatter than when the guy broke up with you.
