Why times square? There's not much there except tourist attractions really. If you do go to clubs in or around times square, you can be sure they will be overpriced and not as good as other parts of the city.

Check out Fat Black Pu*ssy Cat (not a swear word), my favorite lounge in NY, located at 130 West 3rd street in Greenwich Village. There is a nice dance club right next door as well. From times square, walk to the 42nd st./Port Authority subway station and take the A, C, or E to West 4th st.

If the Godfather of Soul entertainer James Brown didn't die this week, you could have saw him at the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill in Times Square on 42nd Street. This show was scheduled for this weekend, but sad to say Brown passed away. I'm sure the Club on 42nd Street between 7th and 8th Avenues will have a memorial show for James Brown.
