I want to be able to toast at new years but I don't want sparkling cider or grape juice.

Michelle, dont drink long island ice tea, it has over 7 different liquors and if you dont drink you'll be flat on your back, good grief already, espresso martini, first of all espresso is like crack for coffee drinkers, unless you like strong strong coffee mixed with liquor forget it. Try the iced drinks or mixers in the freezer section of your super market, liquor can be hard to disguise unless your a darn good mixologist, or as we say bartender. Maybe a champagne but problem is this i specialize in fine wines and champagnes and unless you drink either of them on a frequent basis I wouldn't know where to start with your palate, what's good to the taste of one person maybe be horrifying to you, so I will say good luck, be brave and have fun with it, hit your market today you have a few days to sample things, could be fun

Mimosas are usually a morning or early afternoon drink but they are orange juice with Champagne. Maybe 1/3 champagne to 2/3 orange juice- but they really make the champagne drinkable. Use a sweet juice and champange. Quite good.

A french martini is my favorite.
1 part Chambord (or ther raspberry liquor)
1 part Gin (or vodka, but I'd stick with gin in ur situation)
2 parts Pineapple juice (the more juice, the less you'll taste the alcohol.

Its very fruity - but its easy to go a little too far with these :)

Champagne is good as long as it isn't a dry type. Long Island Ice Tea tastes like ice tea but very very potent. I would stick with champagne especially for New Years. Go to a good liquor store and tell them you don't like the taste of alcohol and they should be able to recommend a nice champagne for you. Happy New Year!

Malibu Bay Breezes go down very smooth. (Malibu Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice and a Splash of Cranberry Juice) They are a pretty pink color too! They are very fruity and sweet and the alcohol content is lower with the Malibu so its not as bad.

My favorite:
Buttery Nipple-Baileys & Buttershots (equal parts) plus milk over ice. Tastes soooo yummy but they are sneaky b/c they taste like butterscotch. But, you may not be able to toast with this.

Another suggestion-Sangria, it does have a bit of alcohol taste b/c of the red wine but it is really good as well.

Kaluah and half and half(milk kind)....tastes like chocolate milk

Gin and Tom Collins mix(buy at supermarket or liquor store)...tastes like lemonade....(it's called a Tom Collins)

Long Island Iced Tea....Vodka, Gin, Rum and Triple Sec...tastes just like iced tea.

You will NOT taste the alcohol in any of these if mixed properly.

look for drinks with a low alcohol percentage. anything over 7% and you will start to taste it.

try the "malt beverages" like bacardi silver or smirnoff ice. there are also some sweet white wines that have low alcohol and taste good.
