So Im getting married Jan 27th and well I decided since I use to be a club DJ that I was just gonna do it myself. Get the songs and then put them on a mixing board program I have and just walk away. Well needless to say there is a huge diffrence between mushy wedding songs and pullen out the glow sticks techno... HELP!!!

There are ALOT of songs nowadays that people are using for their weddings. Of course there's the original wedding song, then Canon in D (the classical one), and a lot of people are using songs from the band Lifehouse such as "You and Me" and "Everything", personally "Everything" is an amazing song to walk down the aisle to. So I hope you find the perfect song and not to sound mushy and girly but when you hear a song you'll fell it in your heart that that's the one. And congratulations on your wedding!

I walked down the aisle to the Chorale section from Holst's Jupiter from the Planets (I'm a music teacher...yes, I'm a dork). Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is always good. We danced to Peter Gabriel's In Your Eyes (from "Say Anything") It was awesome!

Here something on the opposite end of your question :)
I crack up ever time I think about it. My best friends wedding AC/DC was the last song at her wedding and it's all we can remember!! I makes her soo mad when people bring it up!! But it's seriously the funniest thing and everyone remembers it- some one requested it- not the bride!!
Finish up your wedding with a FUN song!!

A bit different, but I think the ultimate honest romantic song is Somebody by Depeche Mode...and it starts off with just the sound of a heartbeat. Otherwise, what is "your" song? Fast or slow, it has meaning for you, and should be right up there!!
Enjoy your day!!

If you like the older type of songs, try "More." It was originally done by Bobby Darrin and remade a while ago by Harry Connick Jr.
