I have a Punch 450.4 amplifier from Rockford. It's installed and everything is right. I was running the amp on a ground and everything worked. Then out of nowhere, it simply stopped working. Now when I don't have a ground/ when the ground wire isn't on anything, the power and thermal lights come on. Then when I put the ground on, all of the lights turn off and the amp doesn't get any power.... any help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably have a speaker wire shorted to ground. When you hook a ground wire to the amp you're doing the equivalent of touching the speaker wire to the amp chassis and everything quits.
It could also be some power source in the amp shorted to the chassis, so when you ground the amp you ground that power source.
