Faith is a curious thing, I believe that no matter how much we learn or evidence presented there will always be those that must believe in the supernatural. Eradicate? No, prove other wise, yes.

If it is now science's job to eradicate religion, well then science does have a problem. It has better things to do. No different than saying it's religion's job to eradicate science. Doesn't make any sense either.

The battle between science and religion has been going on for centuries. They take turns winning. What they don't yet comprehend is that the mind of man is yet in its childhood and that TRUE religion and TRUE science agree. All things emanate from God including science and religion. They cannot be contradictory. Only when people hold on to their animal state can they believe that there should be differences between science and religion.

Religion was the first science. The reason for the current apparent conflict is that religions tend to stick to the science that was around when they were founded.
Religion and science answer different questions. The more we examine the cosmos, the more complicated it appears. There will always be unanswered questions. Religion teaches us the what and the why. Science teaches us how.
Science also creates religions. We have Scientology and also the odd sect created by Richard Dawkins (atheist, but life came from another planet delivered by comet).

In what context ?
There has been 'religion' since time immemorial in one way or another. A faith belief can be a strong motivator.
Science too is important in advancing our lives.
I do not believe the latter is greater than the former.
Where is the evidence?

Time will see the end of Christianity, just as other belief systems faded away, so too will Christianity. Secular education is the key, to find our own answers, to shed dogma and man made Gospels. It`s coming slowly, but surely. It will certainly arrive before those absurd chariots of fire, the walking dead, and the second coming of the Jewish failure fella.

Religion tells what was done! Science tries to explain how!
Jesus rose into heaven! Science is looking for His Bones on earth? We cannot find His bones here on earth, so He did not rise into heaven? I wonder if He forgot to leave His bones.
Science- Only, so called, intelligent life is on earth!
Go down to any sandy beach. The grains of sand on the beach
are nearly as numerous as the entities in space. Pick one grain of sand, Earth, now say that no other grain of sand has life on it. Only the one grain on your finger!

No.
Science is a religion in itself insofar as it's core beliefs are based on blind faith.
