Try looking for excercises online or ride a bike - bikes are fun and u get excercise. Another idea which is probably more expensive is to get a playstation (I have PS1 and PS2 but use PS1) and a dance mat and a few dance games. Some games have workout modes or weightloss modes and I found that quite good. I used it for about an hour each night trying to burn over 300 calories in each session for just over a week and I lost around 3-3.5 kilos. Also changed my diet slightly eating more often but not as much food. I am going to try and do this again because over the summer i gained about 10 kilos. I think this is a good method and would be more fun than a dvd. If you do this and dont have a playstation already look on ebay - they should be quite cheap now, and with the PS3 and other game consoles coming out more should be going on sale soon. I know i didnt really answer ur question but it is a fun and effective way to lose weight.

Fat people ignore the obvious fact that they are eating too much. If I guess that you weigh 10 stone (140 pounds) then an hours session of aerobic dancing (or similar equivalent) uses up about 380 calories (380 kcal).

One portion of baked beans supplies 240 calories (240 kcal), one chocolate digestive biscuit supplies 70 calories (70 kcal) and one finger of a 'Drifter' chocolate bar supplies 130 calories (130 kcal).
Could you dance aerobically continuously for an hour to use up the energy provided by by 5 chocolate digestive biscuits?
Exercise is very important but you cannot rely on it to lose weight, especially if you are currently unfit and unable to exercise for a long time. It would take a five mile walk to use up the energy from an average (350g) chocolate bar.

You can get a very good jump rope for $10. And if you use it regularly you most definitely will see results the first month. But you got to skip for at least 30 minutes every other day.

PS: Don't expect to be able to do 30 min straight (with no rest) at first.

Insted of buying a dvd why not try some exercises by yourself, for example walking.

You should also be able to find exercise routines online for free.
