Dolere dulcis est ("to suffer is beautiful") would echo the words sometimes found on war memorials. "Dulcis est decorum est pro patria mori" ("it is beautiful and fitting to die for one's country").

Otherwise, "dolor pulchritudo est" means "pain is beauty". It doesn't have the same poetic ring, though.

What kind of beauty?

Grace? like decoration
Form or Shape? like a woman is beautiful
Charm?

depending on what kind of beauty will depend on the right wording of the phrase.

dolor decor est (pain is beautiful)
dolor pulchar (beautiful pain)
venustus dolor est (lovelyness of pain - sort of)
doleo venustas

these are but a few examples - you need to clarify what you want to say exactly (send me email and I will find something for you)
