I'm a good cook, but am tired of making the same recipes. I recently joined a book club that specializes in cook books only, and I was wondering what's your favorite book? I have everything from Betty Crocker to Southern Living to Williams Sonoma to Saveur. If you had to get rid of all your books but one, which one would you keep?

Actually mine. I have put my favorites into a loose leaf notebook, and that's where I go when I need a recipe.

There is no need anymore to even have a cookbook when you can go on the web and get recipes for anything you want.

Log onto recipelink.com and simply type in any recipe request, and you'll get an answer in seconds with many to choose from.
They have thousands of recipes of all ethnic origins.
They also have a chat room where you can ask advice, exchange recipes and ideas, etc.
They specialize in finding lost recipes.
This is the best site on the net and I think you'll love it.

While I realize this may be overkill for experienced cooks, what about "The Fannie Farmer Cookbook". It has those trivial recipes that novice cooks (like myself) can learn from. At the same time, it has some more difficult and rare recipes to draw from.

I do have a bit of a collection, but my favorite(s) are Pillsbury One-Dish Meals Cookbook and Favorite Brand Name Pasta Collection. I occassionally pick up when I shop those small "brand-name" cookbooks that they advertise at the check out counter.

I love every cookbook Williams Sonoma's ever written, but if I had to keep one cookbook, it would be Get-Togethers with Gooseberry Patch, because I took all the pictures... :)

Mark Bittman (How to Cook Everything), James Peterson (Splendid Soups), Marcella Hazan (Essentials of Classic Italian Cooking), Jamie Oliver (The Naked Chef), all good additions to your library. I could never keep just one...

Gourmet magazine and Taste of Home are my favorites. I even keep all the magazine.... Taste of Home is really neat because all the recipes are submitted from all over the U.S. and they even include a wild game section (which I find pretty unique).
