OK, let's face it, there are two stereotypes of Asian women: the meek subservient type, and the dragon lady.

So, where in Asia do you find educated, confident, independant women? Hong Kong I am sure. What about Korea or Northern China?

In Asia, the most assertive women I've found of any nationality were Thai (and not your garden variety prostitute either, real bonafide women). The second would have to Japanese. The whole subservient, submissive act may be true of some (as it is in any country), but they can be just as affirmative in getting what they want.

But I just have to ask, are you (or have you) even been to Asia? Any part of it?

Philippines, in Pampanga... hahaha

Seriously though:
I'm sure they are everywhere in Asia. It is probably not so much a question of which country but a question of economy. Education has a direct correlation with money. So any region or area in any Asian country where there is a significant number of middle or upper class citizens.

There are approximately 55 countries considerted to be "asia" They are divided into regions of; north, central, western, southern, eastern and southeast. From Russia to China to Japan to Philippines and Indonesia to Egypt to Armenia. They all have assertive women!!!! It often is a reflection of personality, education, economic status and/or social status. Just as it is in any country or culture around the world. Even if you wish to narrow it down to those countries some "see" as asian, there is no definitive "one" with the most assertive women. They are everywhere !!!!! I have had the oppurtunity to travel or live in most if not all "asian" countries and am married to a Vietnamese women who would be considered "assertive". Meek she is not but certainly no "dragon Lady", unless of course, you really upset her!

Philippines..

One example was my mom and grandma..very independent and intelligent.
In the Philippines most Filipino men nowadays became seamen so women take good care of the children. And the children also learned that values so they tend to be hardworking.
You will find many educated, confident and independent women here. And surely, many of them in Asia.

Good luck!

Korea should be either. Not too sure about Northern China.
but for sure is Singapore, it is similar with Hong Kong if we can't say better.

However, they can also be found in those big cities in Asian countries such as Jakarta, Indonesia.

I don't like to stereotype...you can find assertive women anywhere if you look hard enough. But having said that EVERY woman I have EVER met from the Philippines has been assertive. (I'm sure they have meek ones there...I just haven't met any).

Simple, go to any big city in asia, then go out enjoy the night life, like popular clubs, bars etc. and you're bound to find an assertive woman, just like anywhere else.

Philippines has a lady president and equality among both sexes is practised everywhere in the Islands. I guess that answers your question.
