I just received a "Thank You" from someone.
Good manners do get recognised.
Much appreciated.

I haven't because I may say the wrong thing and get another abuse report. Do you don't know anymore how to answer because if you ask them to ask the question again, you'll get abuse report. I always thought a Abuse report was for someone saying something nasty to someone or abusive. I'm afraid to ask them to repeat a question or just stay nervous all the time wondering if this worded right. I think they have have gotten carried away with these reports, you should not give one tenth of the ones they dish out. I was shocked the last one , I got, the person couldn't spell and you couldn't make out the words, ask them to rewrite the question again and in flew a abuse report. If the foreign people can't write then let the ones that dish out these abuse reports read it and respell it where the English language can read it. I'll get one for this answer, I'm positive..

Yes, I always try to. Sometimes the person has an "unconfirmed e-mail" so it doesn't go through, and then I usually leave a 'thank you" in the comments box. Good manners and courtesy don't cost anything and go a long way to making the world a more pleasant place.

I don't email their Yahoo address direct, but I do try & leave a "thank you" on these pages, so hopefully they'll get my messages when they read their answers. It IS nice to receive a "Best Answer", so I try to give something back by voting for the Undecided Questions, & make someone else's day, too. Thank You to everyone who has made me Best Answer this year, & have a great 2007!!!

I'm not sure how to. A couple of times I have gone back on and it says ' you have already answered this question' !! I'd like to.

Though one Best Answer, a factual one rather than an opinion, was quite critical saying it was too shallow and not researched enough!! I though that was a bit sh*te as he was obviously too idle to do the research himself. He'd have got a gobful if I had known how. So maybe no harm done eh?

I sometimes thank them for Best Answer if I thought the question was particularily interesting, but I don't always nor is it always possible. I also compliment others for a good question when mine wasn't chosen, or compliment someone for their best answer if I felt it was really insightful.

I have made a couple of online friends by doing that, so it does have a side benefit too.

I know its terrible to say but no i dont always say thank you.... sometimes the best answer chosen was not by the person asking the question but by YA in the undecided section....

Your right though good manners and a little thank you messages goes along way!

Of course. Good manners are best. Unfortunately, not many people use or consider manners important.

I never really thought about it, but half the time I have tried to write people they did not accept e-mails, and my spelling stinks to bad for instant messaging. I will try to remember to do that next time.

Well I'm always directed back to the page and comment box, and I guess it's just courteous to say thanks at least. Though there's one particular person that I cannot thank as much as I would like.
