Read The constitution sometime.
No one shall be denied life, liberty, or property with out due process.

I think we have come along way since the internment camps of the 1940's. After all we did not run around locking up all the American Muslim's

Maurice H,

All that's going on (at least here in the U.S.) is that Christians are being required to abide by the same rules as everyone else.

Have Christians in the U.S. been denied jobs because of their religion? Have they had their homes or children taken away from them because of being Christian? Have they been forced behind barbed wire, crowded into "Christian-only" sections of cities from which they are not allowed to leave? Have they had their children forcibly reeducated in anther religion, had their children's names changed, not allowed to speak their native language? Have they had to wear a cross on their outside clothing so that others could identify them as lesser beings?

I could go on.

I know that it's difficult for any group, whether political, ethnic, or religious, that has had special privileges in a society to have to give those up. But that is NOT persecution.

You want to know what ACTUAL persecution is? See above.

Not too worried about atheists just yet - but apparently, 23% of Americans think it's a good idea as far as Muslims go. Pretty scary, huh? And if they SOMEHOW manage that, atheists would be next on the list, I'm sure.

Yes, because I am probably one of less than five atheists living in this small, conservative Christian town. This is a reality. If you've never watched the documentary, "Jesus Camp", before, I urge you to do so. It does a great job of showing what happens when children are raised as Fundamentalists.

They could try, but I don't see the benefit to them, considering the number of scientific breakthroughs atheists produce which save their lives. They'd probably have a hard time finding us anyway. Not being a religion, there is no recurrent social gathering behavior to be an atheist. The other benefit of atheism is that has nothing to do with one's appearance.

No, I'm afraid it will be the other way around. There are not that many Christians over here. Obviously, you are afraid of us.

America has no power to appoint LORDS thus they are a godless nation, so why would they punish the whole nation of atheists even though they print in God we trust on the money.
remember the civil WAR that severed ties with the Lords of England means they rejected the Sovereign LORDS.
