Ginger Ale - such as Canada Dry or Vernor's is NOT alcoholic. (often times an rum is mixed with them to make a drink) but you can just buy it at any grocery store.
It is also often used to soothe upset stomachs - ginger has a calming effect.

ginger ale was modeled after some Irish ginger beers (which are fermented, therefore alcoholic) but what is commonly accepted as ginger ale is not alcoholic and is one of the most common mixes in cocktails. i.e. rye and ginger

Gingerale is a "pop" or soda that is non-alcoholic. It can be an ingredient used for making a mixed drink by adding alcohol. It is not an ingredient in non-alcoholic "pops"!
