here's a quick background of everything..
i've been w/ my bf for almost 3 years & his parents like me alot, they invite to every family gathering they have & all that. & they're really nice people, i've known them since i was little, but they moved away so i have just recently met them again about 3 years ago. our parents were co-workers & good friends when they were still living in the same area as we did.

so after all that said, here's the thing..
every xmas they'd given me a bag for the passed 3 years & this year was a little different. i was given a bag BUT also was given money [$30 to be exact]. to me, that's a little too much & i was never expecting them to give me money, EVER. i guess it's nice of them, but when i received it i began to think that maybe they're trying to say that i like money? i don't know maybe i'm just being paranoid. i just want to know how'd you feel if your bf's parents all of a sudden gave you money as a present. should i take this as a good thing or bad?

you're being alittle paranoid, take what they gave you as a good sign because they like you enough to be generous to you, there should really be no limitation on their kindness especially since they seem to be showing you that they are welcoming you into the family...

um.. wow I was expecting this question to go in a completely different direction.

Look if this was the ONLY sign that they may think that you were a gold digger (this is what you are worried about yes?) then I would not in any way sweat it.

Giving somebody money for a gift does not say that you just think they love money. At least I can't imagine it ever doing that unless there were some other circumstances that would lead me to that conclusion.

Maybe and this probably much more likely that they wanted to give you a little more than just a bag for Christmas.

I would take it as a kind gesture, if these people have known you all your life they know what kind of person you are and have already made any judgments that they are likely to make.

I would also expect that if they had some sort of problem with you they would be up-front about it.

it's little wierd to receive money as a gift for Christmas, but it's highly improbable to do it because they consider "you like money". Probably in the past 3 years they lost the contact with you and are not so confident to buy you something you would like. May be they have just desided to give you some money so that you can buy something you like and the feeling will be as if they have given it to you. I think that's far more probable :). Buy something cool for that money and think about them possitively ;)!

I think they are just very used to you now and think that you are great for their son. Sounds like they are just showing their appreciation for being such a great girl to their son. Obviously if they invite you to every family gathering they must sort of accept you as family. Family give each other money most of the time. I wouldnt be worried about it.=)

Austin Aries is a organic action picture star and IMO he's a lot greater effectual than CM Punk in ring skill(inspite of the actual shown fact that WWE is employing Punks 50percentof his inring applications). If he indications with WWE it incredibly is going to likely be a great pass for his profession reason than he will substitute right into a properly ordinary face yet u in no way be attentive to ways WWE is going to apply him.Even TNA has no longer used him in appropriate way.

After 3 years of dating their son, I think $30 and a bag (I hope you mean purse) is a really nice gift.

I don't think they're trying to tell you that you like money. They probably are trying to tell you that they like you.

Here's how you accept the gift: "Mr. and Mrs. _______, I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your Christmas gift to me. The bag was fantastic and I will use it all the time. The money was completely over the top, and very generous of you. I really appreciate the thought, and I can see where your son gets his generosity and kindness. I value the both of you highly. Merry Christmas."

It really seems to me that they are just nice people being generous.

Perhaps it was a larger gift this year because you have been with your boyfriend long enough that they are seeing it as a more serious relationship.

awwwwwww, thats a sign that they're accepting you more as family and not just the "g/f" i think its saying that they know the relationship is serious and you'll likely be around awhile.

but if you're going thru a tuff time and they heard about it, it is also a sign that you are one of the family and they care much for you.

don't overanalyze, its good all around!!!

It's a good thing. If there were all these good signs prior to this incident, then take it as a good sign. Don't ruin a good thing while it's good by being paranoid.
