Six stages, not six 24 hour days.
Six stages, just like the scientists and evolutionists discovered 3500 years after the Bible was written.
Does that sweeten your fancy?
How did Moses know the stages of evolution, and the fossil records of the flood in his world (his neighborhood of the world)?
How did Mosses know 3500 years ago about cloning?
Fancy that!
.Firstly, the Bible is a history of the Jewish blood line. Not the bloodline of the all people or hominids on Earth.
Proof: All the names in it are Jewish; Except for Saul who changed his name to Paul.
My wife just came in so I am going to have to make this short.
Universe is 13.7 billion years old
The Earth is 4.5 billion years old
Planet H (Heaven) was formed shortly after Universe was formed.
That leaves Heaven and God, A scientist from heaven, to have 9 billion year head start on us.
Evolution, given enough time, leads to eternal life. (Isn't that the next mutation after "survival of the fittest"?

4.6 billion years old.
No not six days, in the beginning.
There are 3 heaven and earth ages, same heaven and earth but different ages.
II Pet.3:5-7 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: 7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
……………………………………….
THE WORLD THAT THEN WAS
Gen.1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
To that earth age the world that then was, belongs all fossils and remains. Scientific estimates or guesses; universe or heavens 20 billion years old, earth 4.6 billion years old, moon 200 to 300 million years younger than earth, dinosaur extinction 65 million years ago, Ice Age 2.5 million years ago.
………………………………………………………………
BEING OVERFLOWED WITH WATER PERISHED
Gen.1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
AND THE EARTH WAS
The word “was” (hayah) in Hebrew, was not distinguished by the Revisers, that is the verb “to be” from “to become”. The same Hebrew word “hayah” is translated “became” in Gen.2:7.
AND THE EARTH BECAME
WITHOUT FORM H8414 tohu (to'-hoo) From an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), that is, desert; figuratively a worthless thing; adverbially in vain: - confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness.
VOID H922 bohu (bo'-hoo) From an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, that is, (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin: - emptiness, void.
AND THE EARTH BECAME DESOLATE AND EMPTY
Earth was not created that way but became desolate and empty due to Satan’s rebellion. A global overflowing of water, but not Noah’s deluge. Darkness was upon the (face) of the deep, in other words the whole earth.
Into this we can read; dinosaur extinction, destruction of Atlantis, breakup of Gondwana Land, and the Ice Age.
………………………………………………………………………...
BUT THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH WHICH ARE NOW
Gen.1:2 And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Gen.1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
About 63 A.D. Peter writes, the heavens and the earth which are now. The heaven and earth age we are in now, today.
BY THE SAME WORD ARE KEPT IN STORE
RESERVED UNTO FIRE
AGAINST THE DAY OF JUDGMENT
AND PERDITION OF UNGODLY MEN
PERDITION G684 apoleia (ap-o'-li-a) From a presumed derivative of G622; ruin or loss (physical, spiritual or eternal): - damnable (-nation), destruction, die, perdition, X perish, pernicious ways, waste.
Some will perish eternally and not see the third heaven and earth age.

There are two theories. (We don't really know for sure, but the REAL fossil record supports Young Earth Theory)
Young Earth: God created the earth in literal six 24 hour days.
Old Earth: 2 Peter 3:8 says: "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." so the beginning of this verse sounds like it is saying that it could have been 6000 years. Right? WRONG!
Most people take this verse out of context. You see... the second part of the verse is this: "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
The text uses "like" to describe. "like a thousand years," Many people see these types of descriptions every day. They are called similies, and they are a comparison, not necessarily fact. The context of this verse has nothing to do with creation, rather to show us that God is not bound by time as we are, and to show how much he loves us.
My opinion, young earth all the way baby.

If the answer is 6000 then I guess all the dino bones were just left by a prankster god...
I find it funny how people can say "Well those aren't real days" so how can those not be literal days and the rest of the bible be literal? is a God day more or less? Doesn't fit? Like God mentioning WE, THEY made us in THEIR image in Genesis. People will say "Oh that's the Holy Trinity". yet no where in the bible can you find a reference to it.. So since the Pluraity of God cannot be explained lets make something up... just like a Day isn't a REAL day.... pppfftttt

We don't know how old the earth is. It is written in Peter that a day to God is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day.
And in Genesis the first days didn't yet have the sun, moon & stars.

Around 7,000 years more or less
The bible was written for man and is in man's terms so we can understand time frames. God does not need millions of years to do something, he could have made the earth in 6 seconds if he had wanted.

It doesn't actually SAY God created the EARTH in 6 days, only gave it 'order' in 6 days that COULD have been a million of our days per 'day', as time as we now know it did not exist then, only at a later time, perhaps after Adam and Eve got 'booted out of Eden', who really knows? No one. Does it matter? NO.

How long is a day for God?
If God is God he shouldn't have to take so much time..why not in 6 blinks of an eye?

The general scientific consensus is that the earth is approximately 4.5 billion years of age.
Of course, that doesn't prevent some Baptist preacher from claiming the age to be less than 10,000.
For me, I will stick with science - the provable.
