actually, washing your hair EVERY day can dry it out and damage your hair.... but never washing it?
well that's just silly.
i wash my hair every other day. (but i wash my self every day, lol)
it's good for your some of your hair's natural oils to rejuvinate your hair. especially if you blow dry, curl, or straighten it every day.
your friend shouldn't be using JUST conditioner, though. that will make her hair greasier than ever.

Thats A lie. your hair will eventually get un-healthy because your hair needs to be moisturized once in a while [every week or so] and most shampoos do this. Conditioner alone is not enough to keep your hair healthy, so tell your friend thats a lie.

Depends on your friend's ethnicity or hair type.

If she's white with straight hair, then old gal needs to be washing that stuff with some shampoo at least every other day to keep it from looking all clumpy.

If she's African American or white with curly hair, using conditioner only could be a good thing, since black hair tends to be dry anyways. Some African American's with natural, unrelaxed hair have found conditioner only to soften the hair and make it grow well.

Personally I have to have my shampoo, but I do also have days where I just condition it.

See link.

Well, you need shampoo to keep your hair clean, and get rid of dry scalp which causes dandruff. But it is bad if you use it everyday. You need oil in your hair, or else it will absorbe your surroundings. If you wash your hair everyday, and you walk past a smoker then your hair will smell like smoke. It also keeps your hair from drying out. And, oily hair is a lot easier to style and keeps your hair from getting frizzy. Just wash your hair once a week and you'll be fine

That is nasty. Your friend took on some really bad advice. I don't care if she is African American she needs to wash her hair (once weekly). Black people do sweat and do go outside so yes, we need to shampoo our hair once a week at least. Tell your friend to try Aveda Brilliant shampoo. It only washes out the dirt and debris from your hair and does not strip the hair of its natural oils. Tell her the shampoo is organic. Good luck!

It's a lie. Shampoo washes out your hair and makes it clean. Conditioner makes your hair unhealthy and thick and yucky felling, but is still very good to use AFTER shampoo. Ignore her and treat your hair right.

That's a lie. Only using conditioner will make your hair fall out

I know if you use certain shampoo's it can damage your hair only because you could be allergic or it's not the right product!!! but I've heard that conditioner is better to use on your hair than it is to use shampoo! but in other words, what she said is a misconception!!!

not using shampoo for a couple of days does make your hair look oily because of all the oil your hair produces. Don't shampoo your hair everyday, this will damage it, try shampooing every other day.
Hope this helps!

I have heard of people just conditioning their hair, but they should wash it at least 3 times a week and if just conditioner the other times, because their scalp needs a good sudsing every now and then especially if they use styling products.
