Spaying and neutering pet cats is the only way the burgeoning cat population problem will ever be brought under control. All the TNR (trap-neuter-return) groups, rescue people, and humane societies in the world will not have a chance to write done to their work until cat owners wake up, quit making excuses, and start neutering their cats.
I rarely get mad, because it is a draining and usually unrewarding experience, but I'm mad today. Why? Because of the latest of many similar news articles I've read about the same topic. This one is about the Calgary Humane Society, struggling with the problem of too many cats. That excellent agency takes in about 7,000 cats a year, and this year took in 300 more.
