They do. It's just different. People have different perceptions of prayer. I am not atheists however I don't think we should give them a hard time because of their belief. That's hatred and prejudicial. I light incense and speak to Buddha for about 30 minutes a day. Some might think that's crazy. I don't. Perception is key to this debate.

Atheists don't need prayer. We also don't need a God, a book, or a Top Ten list to tell us how to behave and not hurt people. If theists do, then I, for one, am glad they are free to choose to be religious.

I don't pray, nor do I feel that there is any pressing need for me to have a prayer. Oh, and Trent? I've got plenty of love to go around, thank you.

Prayer implies looking outside yourself for aid. There's nothing there to help you.
Meditation is looking within yourself for greater knowledge. What's there is limited, but it's not absent.
Atheists may meditate, but not pray.

We're too caught up in that damn grammar thing. Obviously you are not. Even if we were to get a prayer, who would we pray to? You? Not likely, my friend. Not likely.
