A few days a go I was in a hurry and sorta stabbed my self in the ear as I was trying to get the earing threw and made my ear bleed. Thinking noithing of it I flushed with hydrogen peroxide and went on my way. Well now my ear is so swollen and hurts. I know it is infected. What should I do. Take the earring out let the ear heal and then re pierce my left ear?

Don't put alchohol on it! That's one of the worst things you could do. It will dry the ear out. Try some Claire's ear care solution (from Claire's boutique). That stuff works wonders. if in a day or so it's not better, keep the earring out and let it close up, then get it done again. Good luck!

Keep the earring in. Every day when you shower, the last thing you should do is use an antibacterial soap to clean it. Make sure to move the earring back and forth through the hole to clean both piercing and earring. Rinse WELL! Peroxide is NOT recommended for piercings. You can use triple antibiotic ointment for a few days until the infection clears.

Also, you can go to any body piercing shop and ask what they recommend. I know they have a solution for soaking piercings but can't recall what it is off hand. HTH.

Try to keep the earing in and continuously clean the area with rubbin alcohol and if you have studs continuously turn it a few times a day to it doesn't dry and become crusty...if it does not get better go see your doctor and if at anytime it become so swollen that it is becoming a real probelm take it out....my sister had an allergic reaction to the metal of an earing and had to go to the Dr. s to get it taken out because the ear engulfed the earing....is this your first piercing? Have you had any reactions to metal watches....necklaces etc.?

Don't use hydrogen peroxide. Keep moving it around to keep it from crusting and cleaning it but use ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP. I have my eyebrow and cartilage pierced and both people that did it told me to not use peroxide because it takes away the bad and the good stuff (germs). Clean your earrings with alcohol to keep them sterile, and just while you're in the shower, squirt a glob of soap (make sure it's antibacterial, just good old hand soap) and clean your piercings and move them around. If your infections worsen or do not heal in a couple of weeks, go to the doctors, they might be to far gone to help. And I would additionally advise anyone with any piercings that are in permanently that you don't take out alot, to wash them regularly forever with antibacterial soap. It keeps them clean and healthy. I just keep a hand soap pump with me in the shower and make it part of my washing routine. Think about it this way- it's a piece of metal in your body, especially if it's in your face, you can clean it more than just the first 6 weeks, otherwise it gets gross even if it isn't infected.

iT DEPENDS ON HOW BAD ITS INFECTED. IF ITS REALLY BAD THEN I SUGGEST YOU DO THAT OR YOU CAN DO WHAT I HAVE DONE MANY TIME ( I HAVE PIERCED MY EARS 5 TIMES) I JUST PUT ALCOHOL DAILY IF POSSIBLE TWICE, IN THE MORNING AND AT NIGHT, AND I ALSO PUT THE EARING IN ALCOHOL AND THEN PLACE IT IN THE EAR JUST TO MAKE SURE IT DOESNT GET WORSE. HOPE IT HELPS YOU.

Anti-septic.

If this continues, seek medical advice.

Do not wear ear rings if they are dirty.
