I cannot stand these people. They have been rude and nasty to me and my 2 adult children. I figure they have enough money to support this baby and it will never have anything to worry about. Both grandfathers are railroaders and they make megga bucks. When they have family gatherings, they do not invite my 2 grown kids unless they hope to gain something such as a gift (as in this case). Should I just buy a gift. They did not invite my nieces 8 aunts, and she is such a recluse, I cannot imagine who they are inviting to this shower. She was home schooled and really doesnt have even 1 good friend except for my daughter who wasnt sent an invitation to the shower. My sister (her aunt) wasnt invited and after we talked, she said she would sent the baby a gift after it was born. This is so ridiculous. What to do? I know I sound like a ******, but you would have to have seen this family, they are so rude and nasty.

Maybe the baby will be different from all the other close relations....DECENT and POLITE!! I know you don't want to gift the baby....because that is like gifting the people you don't like a gift. IF you have the money to spare....go all out. Kill them with kindness and rise above.
Hey....I make diaper cakes. I work with any budget. Themed ones too....think of a theme, and I can match it!! (An etiquette themed cake, perhaps.....to give the child a fighting chance?? A Donkey-themed cake (another word for a donkey is an a**)?? )
Another option....just don't go to the shower and don't worry about the gift. You probably aren't horribly concerned with what they think anyway, right?
