i am 16 and i am 5'2 and 99-100 pounds. i like the way my body looks except for the love handle area. also, i have very narrow hips, is there any chance that my hips will widen and my love handle fat will re-distribute? if not could anyone please tell me some good exercises for the lovehandle, and ab area? thanks for your time.

Your weight and height tells me that you are pretty thin.. If you are worried about "love handles" or your obliques you should do a certain type of crunch (sit up) that has really helped me.

Lay on your back and put your hands behind your head with your arms out straight. When you lift for the crunch (only half way, not a whole sit up) turn to the side. For example, if you are doing a crunch from the right side, you should be facing the left, with your right elbow coming level with your right knee. Do 2 reps of 8 on both sides (stretching in between for about 5 seconds) and then repeat once more... (a total of 32 on each side/16 at a time with a short stretch in between).

*For a more ADVANCED VERSION, touch your elbow to the opposite knee when you come up for the crunch. This exercise really does work!
*To STRETCH, lay flat on your back and lay your right leg over your left/twisting only the bottom half of your body. You should feel a wonderful stretch all the way down the side of your abs. Then repeat on the other side.

You are just fine!!! You can do some lunges and squats to help give your booty some shape. Pilates will help get rid of the love handles (I'm sure they're not bad at 100lbs) and strengthen your core. You can also take some 5lb or 8lb weights and do some side bends to help give the area more tone and definition.

Just remember, you are your own worst judge of how your body looks. Stop being so hard on yourself!! ;-)

Just a few tips...

Eat right (a balanced diet with plenty of veggies, adequate protein, fiber - all the good stuff). Stay away from refined sugars and junk food.

Get plenty of exercise. It will make you feel good inside and out.

It sounds to me like you are a healthy teenager. Don't worry so much about the way you look. Everyone's body shape is different. Maintain a healthy mindset about your body image.

You're only 16 and worried about love handles?
Go outside and play a lot of baseball and basketball. The love handles will go away.
