I am in my mid-twenties but never had sex with anyone before my current boyfriend. He asked me afterward how many people I had been with and I lied, saying I had slept with an ex.

Now, I feel horrible, so I came clean to him in an email (we aren't around each other right now because of the holiday break) telling him that he was my first and I was scared of what he would say if he knew the truth.

My email says he read it, but he has said nothing in reply. Do you think I have lost him?

If he a truely a good person he'll understand that you were nervious. It wasn't a major lie and he'll get over it. He should be proud of you for not having sex with anyone else and staying true to yourself for so long. If he is not proud then i am even though I'm a total stranger because in this day and age it takes alot to stay a virgin for so long.

You made a choice to lie...how is he to know what confession is the lie and what confession is the truth? Why should he believe anything you say? You broke a trust and took something away from him by doing so. If he replies...great that means he might forgive you...but know this...you made a conscious choice...if you don't like the way it turned out when you lied, keep in mind that it's up to you to change your choices and learn from your mistakes.

Men are different. Some men don't want girls who are virgins and some men appreciate the fact a girl is virgin!! MAYBE he wanted to hear the truth!! that you're virgin!! NOW he doesn't know WHAT to believe. You already messed it up.
I don't know how you can correct your mistake. Maybe, try to explain to him ALL your reasons for lying and then SWEAR on anything to get him back....ALSO promise him you'll never lie to him again!

that hard to say b/c some guys think if they have sex with a virgin shes gonna become clingy and fall to quick for them....you should have just been up front with him.... if hes a nice guy he'll call you instead of emailing you..that's so cold

I doubt you lost him, if you had lied the other way (Having had sex, and saying you hadn't) you might have lost him. I would call him and talk to him, see how he truly feels.

Don't bother about that and be merry. He won't take it seriously. Moreover, ur confession on email will only bring u much closer to him.

It's not something you say in an email, you wait until you're in person...if he loves you then you shouldn't lose him. I would think he'd be glad to know he was your first.
