I had braces as an adult. It is totally worth it. You are smart, smart, smart not to wait. That just causes more problems with your teeth. Kids that have braces are self-conscious too. Think about when you talk to someone. You might notice the braces at first, but then it kind of fades to the background. Only YOU are going to remember all the time about the braces, other people are just thinking about getting to know you. Please don't think anyone is more perfect than you.

OMG this too will pass. You did the right thing. Be thankful that you have the finances to do it, that in 2 years you will have straight teeth. Imagine what it's like for people who can't afford to fix their teeth. You used to know that feeling as a kid. This is not a huge problem. Wear those braces proudly. It's a sign of wealth and health. You will have healthy straight teeth alot longer than braces.

No, there are plenty of worse things in the world. Believe it or not I found that in college, my fellow students were a lot more understanding than in High School. I guess the maturity factor kicks in. That and I didn't see College as being very Cliquish.
Just remember that though you may feel bad about them now, remember the goal and Smile. Most of those people w/ perfect teeth paid for them a long time ago and will most likely empathize w/ your plight now.

Lizzy, use the time to excel in other areas of your life. And besides, the braces will do a lot of good to your health. Not much bacteria will form in your mouth during this time. Your breath will rarely ever smell bad if you continue to clean your teeth. Most young people wish for braces, and most older people wish they had gotten braces when they were your age. You worry too much about the small stuff.

Darling you see beautiful people without braces, but you don't know if they ever had braces in their life, take it easy on yourself and remember you'll be one of them in no time. Hey I'm no grand dad full of advises! Ive been through the same and i know it's painful also affects your social life but to a degree though!
I was 24 not bad looking( i was living in Europe at the time) always going out, lots of nigh club, lots of ladies, even time to time drive down to Germany for new clubs. So i could feel the pain, not much of laghing, talking, going to clubs, but one thing, always gave me boost, thinking about the end and how cool and nice it'll be. It worked, so hony, do the same, don't think about it MUCH!
By the time you're graduated from college you are trasformed to a 'beutiful lady with a beutiful smile'
Love&respect.

NO don't feel bad! braces are the in thing to have now. because so many people have them, it's quite common and you should feel o.k. you souond quite pretty as well so people should be able look past your braces. think on the bright side; you'll have GORGEOUS teeth when your done!
when your out, and you feel self concious, just look at other people and pick out there bad points, like dress sense, or hair style, and you'll feel alot better!!!!

my dear friend u should be very happy because even if it wont look very pleasing now but by wearing braces ur actually eliminating the problem of ur malocclusion(Abnormally placed teeth)...and hopefully within 1-1.5 year u will actually start to see and appreciate the dif braces will make to your teeth and then they will be perfect...so dont need to feel bad that ur wearing braces at this age because eventually with the help of these braces u will eliminate this problem for the rest of ur life...best of luck and one piece of advise...while wearing braces do try to wear them properly and go according to dentists instruction because many peoply get distracted by such feeling and dont wear braces properly and eventually their problem does not actually go away properly...

How could you possibly feel bad when you have something, that YOU ALONE purchased, that many people can only dream of . . . braces to "correct" whatever alignment your teeth need?! And to think that you're only 20. Honey, I hate to surprise you, but YOU'RE JUST A KID!!!!!! My son is 22, and my daughter is 21. YOU'RE A KID!!!!! You have a LONNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG number of years ahead of you to enjoy the fruits of your labor, and investment, now. You're looking with embarrassment at something that millions of others can't even dream of!!!! Wake up, GIRL!!! You've got it made, AND YOU'RE STILL LOOKING YOUNG ENOUGH TO NEED BRACES!!! Who could ask for anything more?!! In 30 or 40 years you'll be looking back at these days and be shedding tears in reminiscence of "those wonderful days". Wake up, and toast a New Year's drink to me. I prefer margaritas, so have one and toast to me!! God Bless you, hon.

What's worse?: Never having your teeth fixed and feeling like an ugly duckling forever OR fixing your problem and feeling amazing in 2 years? Believe me, two years fly by, and had I have had the luxury of fixing my teeth before adulthood, I certainly would have done so no matter what it meant for my self-esteem. And for anyone who ever says anything about it to you "f*ck them".
